I started Week 5 knowing that we were having a nail competition on Thursday, and even though I am still fairly green at doing nails, all new students were expected to participate.

Winnie Huang (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) created this set of 3-D fantasy nail art using a variety of products (liquid & powder, gel, gel-polish, paints, glitter) to illustrate her personal three-word tagline for NAILS Next Top Nail Artist Season 3, Pre-Challenge #2.
Manicurist Hatsuki Furutani worked with a large team with director Mizuki Kawano and Producer Yuna Takayama to create this magnificent stop-motion animation on nails. "We printed three-dimensional artificial nails by importing the animation data into the “ProJet 660 Pro” full color 3D printer. A total of 521 nails were produced by the printer, the thinnest parts measuring only 0.56mm," says the team. "We attached and replaced the nails to an actual human hand, and filmed frame by frame."
