Week 15: Exams and Nail Services

This week we had four exams! We had our written exams starting Monday: one on nail artistry and one on acrylics. Each was 50 questions. I was nervous but it was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.

Week 14: Fun With Nail Art

This week we finally got to my favorite chapter: nail art! On Monday, we discussed the different types of embellishments you can add. We got to have fun on our nails so I did a reverse pink and white and ombre with colored acrylic.

Week 13: Tests and More Tests

I graduate. I'm not sure if all beauty schools are the same but in mine you can't fail any exam. You have to pass all of them in order to graduate, so being on top of your game always is a must.

Week 12: Learning to Do Nail Wraps

This week we started a new unit, my final one. Monday's Chapter was about nail wraps and nail tip application. We learned the proper steps for applying a nail tip and performing nail wrap services.

Week 11: Tests and High Scores

On Tuesday, we had two written exams, one on manicures and one on pedicures. I had a good feeling taking the tests – it felt easy

Week 10: All About Pedicures

On Tuesday, we went over pedicures and the procedures of pedicures. My instructor also taught us about paraffin wax and how to perform the service.

Week 9: Electricity, Manicures, and Full Sets

On Monday we learned about electricity, different type of electric currents, and how to safely work with the equipment we'll have in the salon. Later I performed a basic manicure on one of my classmates.

Week 8: Nail Chemistry and Christmas Nail Art

This week was a busy week. We got seven new girls in our class and the other girls went to the senior floor. I have two more units before I go to the senior floor and start taking clients

Week 7: Big Test and Manis and Pedis

This week we had our big test — a practical exam and a written exam. On my written I got an 84 and on my practical I got a 71. I have to retake my practical because I need a 75 to pass.
