As always, Premiere Orlando was a show for the books. The massive beauty show, which took place June 2-3, hosted beauty professionals and industry manufacturers from around the globe.

The cornerstone of the nail industry’s foundation, acrylics helped build the manicuring business into what it is today. Manufacturers are still continuing to innovate and improve upon the products and techniques. With support from manufacturers and with die-hard acrylic clients, the art of an acrylic sculpt and 3-D design is thriving among the latest generation of acrylic nail technicians. Here are some of the latest acrylic products.

Multi-Colored Metallics: Young Nails educator Melissa De La Cruz created the May 2013 cover of NAILS with an "almanetto" shape, a hybrid of the almond and stiletto nails.

The International Salon & Spa Expo (ISSE) Long Beach, held January 26-28, is billed as the West Coast’s largest and most influential total beauty event. Produced by the Professional Beauty Association (PBA), the ISSE concept has evolved beyond the traditional “hair” show to really incorporate a diverse exhibitor base covering hair, nails, cosmetics, esthetics, wellness, massage, and advanced education. More than 400 beauty brands were on display for nearly 40,000 beauty professionals in attendance. ISSE Long Beach 2014 will be held January 25-27.
