Boats. Ask me what is on my mind lately, and I will say, “Boats!”  Premiere, Orlando is right around the corner, and I am excited to be competing in my first 3-D Nail Art Competition; the theme: Boats.

For those of you who were unable to attend ISSE, Chicago, you missed out on some great nail art entries. While trying to complete my design to enter, I quickly realized that I was unable to do flat nail art designs the way I used to, so I bowed out gracefully.

3-D nail art, on the other hand, is a category I can definitely enter (and hopefully ROCK!). I reviewed the rules, racked my brain for ideas, came up with four great ideas, eliminated three of them, and now I am busy, busy, busy, and constantly thinking about boats.

I started my 3-D design, only to stop upon realizing that I was breaking some of the rules. Fortunately, while working Chicago, ISSE for Nubar, I was able to attend Carla Collier’s “Compete with the Best Class.” The information she provided about the different competitions and the rules, combined with the rules I printed out, are just what I need to keep me on track.

This reminds me, if you have the opportunity to attend the “Compete with the Best Class” at the upcoming Premiere Orlando show on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 6PM (Room 330 F - Orange County Convention Center - West Complex), I will see you there. Anyone entering the 3-D Nail Art competition knows this is where we will be turning in our submissions, but I will also be attending the “Compete with the Best Class” one more time. Carla Collier provided so much great information the first time I attended her class; I think I had better attend it again, just in case I missed something.

Until then, I am off to do some 3-D nail art at my busy workstation pictured above.

C U @ Premiere Orlando!
