The competition arena keeps on evolving along with the nail industry, and I can just scream for joy that gels are starting to get into competitions. The upcoming NailPro Sacramento show will be my first time entering into a gel competition.

The feelings I have for competing in the gel category are bittersweet. On the one hand I’m excited to be competing in something new that will continue on, so I get to experience it from the beginning, but on the other hand because it’s new there's nothing to compare yourself to.

I’m pretty nervous but very excited about it. I think a lot of people feel the same way and are going to enter into this competition, which is a great thing.

We’ll just have to see what happens.

I’m crossing my fingers that I place. Usually I do but like I said I’ve never competed in gels so I’m hoping my nerves don’t get the best of me.
