Hey everyone, did you enjoy ISSE Chicago? Isn’t it great to have an exciting show that allows you to get motivated about your work. Well I missed this one but I didn't miss the competition. I mailed in my entry and placed 7th for flat nail art. FYI you must make it to top 10 alone just for the judging so that in itself is a great accomplishment. Yay!

This competition’s theme was time and let me tell you it is exactly what I didn’t focus on right.

I began my nail art early and then had an awful freeze and didn’t return until I realized, “Oh no it’s Thursday at 4:45 pm. I better run to the post office and mail it in ASAP.”

This is not the best way to do this.

It makes me wonder, if I placed 7th without actually completing what the plan was then what would happen if I really focused and tried my best? So here in front of you I will vow to do my best the next run around.

I also want to say thank you to a special someone who registered my entry. The kindness of some people’s hearts is amazing and it’s so good to know there are still awesome people around. Thank you.

Also I will say mailing an entry feels close to leaving a pet at the vet for surgery overnight. I was a nervous wreck until I knew my friend had the work in her possession.

Now to get ready for the next competition! I will probably not be working the next show, which will give me the opportunity to be an attendee and walk around catching some sales.

I will also be watching all the demos and competitions up close. Learn learn learn. First competition — 5th place, second (online) — 3rd place tie, and third competition — 7th place. Now time for the fourth competition (online).

Here's a pic of the background colors. Acrylic paint. Also I found out when I sent my essay only half of it was submitted. That took points away leading me toward 7th place. Good info for those wanting to compete, the full essay is very important.
