Nailympics

With IBS Las Vegas behind me, last week’s blogs caught up on and Premiere Orlando four weeks in front of me, I'm just kind of resting right now.
Hangin', vegetating, chillaxin', whatever you want to call it, I'm doing it. And rightfully so. The trip to IBS was extremely taxing in body, mind and wallet. Now, instead of competition nails and time schedules and trophies occupying my thoughts, I'm thinking of leisurely afternoons in Palm Springs. Having brunch by a crystal clear lake at some quiet spa. Yeah, that's what I need. Maybe a massage....
Now that's not saying that I don't still have my eye on the ball. I have travel arrangements to make for Premiere and I need to schedule practice sessions with models and of course I want to replenish my competition kit. Which is really a pain for me. I don't know why it happens or how it has become so burdensome, but dang it, I hate to pack that comp kit. I guess it's because I want to make sure that I have everything I may need in competition. So, of course I'm trying to get all things in there, including the proverbial kitchen sink. But invariably, what happens is I have two of everything, some of which I didn't need in the first place.
*Sigh. The trials and tribulations of a competitive nail artist.
Then I have other obligations to fulfill aside from the usually course of business (like my own clientele type of business), and blogging twice weekly. (At this point I'd like to thank my editor for being so patient with me.) I read Maggie Rants and Raves today, and I see that I am not alone in my less than timely blogging. Then there is just life.
So what am I doing all of this for? I'll tell you. After IBS Las Vegas, I'm in line to win NAILS Magazine’s Top 25 Competitors List for the third year in a row! No one has ever done it before. Currently I have 92 points and I don't see anyone catching me. Premiere Orlando is the final point gainer for this year and then I should have it in the bag.
That's why I'm just chillin', now if I can just get NAILS Mag to put me on the cover, hmm............
