Day one of the Long Beach show for me was Sunday since I flew in on Saturday. My goal was to see what was available for nail techs, hit a few classes, and catch up with as many friends as I could see! I started things out at the NAILS Magazine booth where Lucien Henderson, founder of Empower Nail Art, and I introduced the Ring Thing to Kim and Sigourney.
They posted pictures on Instagram becoming the first to unveil our design. We worked together to create a tool we hope nail professionals will really benefit from! Look up #RT4NT to check them out!

While at the booth it was exciting to see the Top 3 NTNA finalists working hard and look at the nail designs they had on display.
The NAILS crew are among my favorite people in the industry so I am always happy to see them when the opportunity is available.
My roomies for the weekend were Ellen Torchia of Nail Talk Radio and Bonnie Rios, a fellow CND Education Ambassador. They were so much fun and really added an extra zing to the show experience!
The other booths I wandered past on Sunday were UV Nails, Artistic, INM, OPI, CND, LeChat, Orly, Young Nails, Crystal Nails, IBD, and EZ Flow.
In spite of the disappointing location of the Nail Spot (I will refrain from ranting on that again but in case you missed that post click here), there were some great classes.I stopped in to hear some science with Doug Schoon.

I watched the competitors working away, CND’s take on the trend inspiration for spring, Sam Biddle’s tips for nail art, Greg Salo’s thoughts on Caption, and Adam Trans tips on success.
There were some great offerings for education once you figured out the location. You can find all my photos from the show on my Facebook page.
Here I am sharing a very comprehensive and well-rounded almost back to work package of information for you from Virox (Rejuvenate) that is the complete set of materials to help you feel confident that everything is in place and ready to go, even if you are already back at work!
If your salon has re-opened, you may have found some challenges with wearing a face shield while working. If not, here are some tips that could help save you some headaches when you do get back.
This video is a really awesome resource for figuring out a reasonable hourly rate for yourself in addition to seeing the average your area can bear in service prices in some ways.
Have you ever heard of the stages of grief? With everything going on, we are grieving our “normal”. That means you should give yourself permission to feel the way you feel.
Has all this PPE business got you down? Does it feel like it cramps your style? One way to help it cheer you up which will in turn cheer up your clients is to add some sparkle.
For those of you that like a little data with your info, here is some really interesting information from salon owner Michele Baker in Georgia. Being one of the first states to open left the salon owners to scramble to learn a lot of things on their own and many have been generous in sharing things they have figured out to help make operating in the COVID-19 world more systematic and understandable.
It has been quite a while since I made a video for the e-file chronicles so an update to that seemed in order. The latest installment is removing gel-polish from an enhancement.
