In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve been struggling getting my blogs done lately. I think mostly because my topic is always about nail competitions and I just haven’t been to any in a couple of months. I call it writer’s block, but that’s not really what it is. I think it’s just a lack of inspiration. For me anyways. I know there are competitions going on all the time. In fact, I just read that the Texas Beauty Show is going to have a nail competition this year again.

It will be October 24th and 25th, and this is a great opportunity for those of you in the southern states to go. It’s a relatively small competition, but sometimes that can be a good thing. And it’s always good practice to compete. I know that sounds funny, but what I mean is you can practice for competitions til the cows come home but can’t become a top competitor if you don’t compete.

And speaking of blocks. Do you ever use the super shiny nail files? Well they have blocks too. I like them. They seem to be easier for me to hold onto. I recommend that you try them. Just avoid the ones with a gray side for competition. If you have any pits in the nail, when you use the gray side it will fill the pits with what looks like black particles and you won’t be able to get them out without re-filing.

Choose the green sided ones instead.
