I have concluded that trying to do every competition location is very difficult your first year out of school. My last month has consisted of finals, the big graduation, state boards, and building my clientele at my new salon. Time has not been on my side. Now that life is starting to stabilize I can start focusing on my competition goals.

I will not be able to attend Orlando simply due to time, so I’m looking at Vegas!

There are three art turn-ins for Vegas — Fairies handpainted, Shoes 3-D art, and Mythology Fantasy Art Theme. I’m planning on doing the 3-D art “Shoes” category, (just need to look in my closet for some inspiration!) Among the art categories, I will be doing just one of the model-needed events. Those are Salon Success, Perfect Match, and two sculptures (the competition sculpture with pink-and-whites and the planet-themed sculpture.) Vegas is definitely going to be packed full of stuff to see (and do!)

I’m particularly excited because this event is the invitational so being able to see all the top competitors at only a five-hour drive is pretty sweet.

I want to add that going to these shows and competitions really gets me excited about the nail industry and the career that I have chosen. The energy, new products, and being able to chat with “veterans” that have been in the business longer than I have been living is truly amazing. I never would have thought that competing and writing this blog would introduce me to so many great people and open so many doors.

Anyhow, I hope to see you in Vegas Baby!
