Intricate floral stiletto nails won the NSI Free-hand Nail Art Competition, an online photo competition that invited nail techs from around the globe to use NSI acrylic or gel to create nail art designs. The entries were judged by Vicki Peters, Denise Wright, and Debbie Doerrlamm, who looked for difficulty of design, use of color, originality, overall enhancement design, and first impression (or the “wow” factor).

The Premiere Orlando International Beauty Event again proved itself as a vibrant beauty show, with more than 46,000 attendees present during the two-day show (which took place June 6 to 7). The show featured 350-plus classes, nail competitions, and NailTech Network Orlando (which was co-hosted by Beautytech.com and NAILS). Next year’s show will be June 4-6.

Students at the London College of Beauty Therapy have filed and polished a combined length of 200 meters (656 feet) of fingernails to set a new Guinness World Record. In total, 1,897 men and women took part in the May 13 record attempt held at the college. The record was for the highest number of file and varnishes performed over an eight-hour period.
