Week 20: The Best Lil' Nail Show and Expressing Gratitude
We started the week off on a motivating note, attending a local trade show. The next day, I painted my daughter's nails to match her Halloween costume!

I felt exhausted, and I was in much need of a day spent with family.
I didn't have any ideas for fantasy nail art, until my classmate asked what inspires me on a daily basis. Immediately, it clicked!

A nail school category was added to Modern Salon’s Excellence in Education program for the first time in 2017. The awards recognize outstanding achievement by beauty schools across the country.
I passed my test, tried out fantasy nails, and bonded with a client while listening to her stories. It was a great week!
My first client of the week didn't show up, but I chose to take advantage of my newfound freetime instead of dwelling on the mishap.
For the first time, I was able to transfer the image in my head to the actual nail.
She loved them. I'm getting better with quality, and I love seeing my progress, but I still need to work on the length of my services.
Although I started the week feeling exhauseted, everything turned around when I realized what a strong support system I have.
We came back from our extended weekend on Wednesday and aced our first test of the new module. After the test, our instructor did a demo on 3-D art.
Our first assignment as juniors to complete is called the "Five Client Project," but I wasn't sure how that would work for me since I'm not from the area and don't know too many people.

Before I worked in publishing I worked in public education. I consider it a privilege to have spent so much time in the school system. I was there to teach, but I loved my job because of what I learned.
My goal is to reduce my spent on pink-and-whites since they're are a very popular service.
This week was busy: we worked on live models, tried 3-D art for the first time, and got a new instructor.
This week we started out with my favorite service, sculpted nails.
For the second half of the week, we learned how to do encapsulated nails, which was much harder than I anticipated.
My goodness, everyone was excited to learn acrylics. This is what we have been waiting for.
