The idea of setting national licensing standards for nail techs is a big topic and not something everyone will agree upon.
We called nail techs and salon owners around the country to find out what’s on their wish list for the nail industry. From better education to an improved economy, here is what some nail technicians are hoping to see in 2004.
Is the problem the schools themselves? Is the problem that students are not motivated? Is it that once in a salon, new nail techs cannot earn a living quickly enough to stay motivated?
Your clients should be learning about new products from you, the trusted beauty professional. Would you go to a doctor who had not updated his medical skills for many years? Of course not, and we should have the same expectations from our employees and ourselves.
What concerns you most about your business right now?
Continuing education is key to the future growth of the industry. So why is it not getting the attention it deserves? Have nail techs and manufacturers become disenchanted with continuing education and relegated it to the back burner?
