I spent all of this week working with my drill. I found yet another video by Young Nails, titled “I-Formation Filing,” and because of it I have been making some really smooth and even nails! There is always more to learn, but I am a lot more confident with the drill now.

On Saturday, March 21, the beauty industry united to posthumously honor Pivot Point International’s founder Leo Passage. The hairstylist and cosmetology school founder was an advocate for continuing education and he was selected by Beauty Changes Lives (BCL) to receive this year’s Legacy Award for revolutionizing the business of beauty education.

During Beauty Changes Lives’ Legacy Award ceremony on Saturday, March 21, in Chicago, sponsors of the awards presented Trilogy of Beauty to spotlight NEXTGEN artists, the beauty industry’s future leaders. As the sole nail sponsor, CND featured looks from three of the industry’s up and coming stars.

The beauty industry united on Saturday, March 21, to celebrate the legacy of a man who revolutionized the business of beauty education. The Beauty Changes Lives Foundation (BCL) posthumously honored Leo Passage; founder of Pivot Point International, Inc. Passage’s wife Lenie, and son Robert accepted the award on behalf of Leo.
This week was all about book work and practicing with acrylics. I completed seven out of 10 chapters, and played with creating different nail shapes. I also performed a few manicures and pedicures on real clients. Yes, I’m touching people now!

The Beauty Changes Lives/CND/ Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship program is now accepting applications through March 23, 2015. This program is open to new students attending a qualifying nail technology school. Ten winners will receive 100% of their program tuition costs funded (up to $5,000).

The second week of school got off to a rough start. I spent most of my week finalizing my submission video for the Beauty Changes Lives /CND /Tippi Hedren Nail Technology Scholarship. The scholarship is for nail tech students, giving them the opportunity to win the full cost of their nail technology tuition to an accredited school.
