Behind the Scenes: Egg-ceptional Nails

Orange, Calif.-based celebrity manicurist and international educator Elsbeth created these perfect Easter egg-inspired nails for this month’s cover. Elsbeth, who travels in the United States and abroad to teach classes on celebrity nail styles and trends in color, has been especially busy lately, even doing Britney Spears’ nails for her new album cover.

Here’s how you can do these nails:

1. Apply tips of your choice. File down and shape into an egg-
like shape.

2. Apple two coats of white polish (Elsbeth used Nailtini Cream), followed by one coat of pearly white polish (Elsbeth used Nailtini Crushed Ice).

3. Add horizontal stripes (Elsbeth used Orly Chica Boom, Finger Paints Berry Shiny, and White and Yellow Fine Liner from Nail Selection Germany).

4. Add jagged lines over some of the thick horizontal stripes. Using a stylus, add dots over some of the thick horizontal stripes. Add top coat.

(Note: It’s important to let the polish dry completely between each layer.)
