Step-by-step by Shauni Kelly, Hot Heads Barbershop and Cool Claws Nails, Albuquerque, N.M.

1. Using the reverse method of application, apply a mixture of Young Nails’ Frosted Pink and French acrylics to the base of the nail.

2. Apply Young Nails’ Metallic Blue acrylic over the remainder of the nail.

3. While the acrylic is still wet, apply Young Nails’ Icy Mylar (in blue) to the nail in different areas, creating rough flower shapes. Apply clear acrylic.

4. After the acrylic sets, use a striper brush and black acrylic paint to draw flowers on top of the Mylar designs.

5. Apply a thin layer of clear acrylic.

6. File the nail. Apply Young Nails’ Finish Top Coat.
