Creative Stirs Up the Spring '07 Runways
CND took charge of the nail fashions at a record 50 shows during New York’s Spring ’07 Fashion Week, painting the runways of Proenza Schouler, Marc Bouwer, Tory Burch, Diesel, Luca Luca, Esteban Cortezar, Costello Tagliapietra, and 3.1 Philip Lim, among others. While many of the designers opted for muted, monochromatic looks to complement their fashions, others choose bolder, conceptual nail styles to convey their vision.
Baby Phat opted for accent nails with bold tropical flowers to complement its Brazilian Rainforest theme.
CND designed several different accent nails for Heatherette, including some with bold numbers and intricate flowers.
CND paired Negligee with Glow, a new translucent gold shimmer, to accent the muted color palette and minimal accessories of Carolina Herrera, Max Azria, and Sass & Bide.
Jay McCarroll’s models wore severely squared-off nails with a pewter tip.
For her L.A.M.B. line, Gwen Stefani chose a French manicure using a custom-blended beige to match her models’ skin tones.
