OPI took to the spotlight in the opening monologue of the October 13, 2009 episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. (Click here to watch it.) Announcing that she had finally gone for a manicure, the famed comic and talk show host devoted her opening monologue to humorously chatting about the array of OPI nail colors available and their imaginative names.

Recalling the time when there were only “three or four colors on a tray,” Ellen likened getting a salon manicure today with the vast choice of colors to “going to a paint store.” She playfully explored the clever names of OPI Nail Lacquers, devoting special attention to I Only Drink Champagne, I’m Not Really a Waitress, and My Chihuahua Bites, the last of which she showed on-camera and said, “I don’t know how they came up with this!”

Ending the monologue on an especially comic note, Ellen read a poem she had created inspired by the names of OPI Nail Lacquers. In the poem, she highlighted the shades Clubbing til Sunrise, All Lacquered Up, and Tickle My France-y with verses such as “My toes are Clubbing til Sunrise,” “The moon is All Lacquered Up,” and “The stars are Tickle My France-y.”
