Sometimes a little can go a long way. And in the salon, a small additional service that doesn’t cost much can really add up to big profits. NSI educator Tina T. Albanese-Stauffer shares one of her best kept “little” money makers.

My biggest “small” money maker is Perma Gloss from NSI. I charge $5 and have grown my bottom line by as much as $7,000 in one year’s time. The 2-oz. jar is $45 and you get approximately 50 services out of every jar. I gave a sample to each of my clients the first time for free and said, “This is a ‘no maintenance’ product, meaning you do nothing to your nails from the time you leave my salon to the time you come back, and your nails will be just as shiny as when you left.” Most of my professional clients love this because they’re too busy to place a clear coat on their nails during the week to “freshen” them up. It’s a very big time saver, and time savers always sell.
