Safety Bit

This e-file bit is missing its top teeth for a reason. Launched May 1, this patent-pending bald-on-top, rounded bit by Young Nails is dubbed the Safety Bit — and it may improve e-file safety for veteran e-filers and newbies alike. “This bit will give you the confidence to use an electric file, knowing that you won’t cut yourself or the client,” says Greg Salo, Young Nails president. With no edges, the rounded design means no matter what part of the bit touches the skin, it won’t cut the skin. Young Nails’ educators have been testing the bit, and the feedback has been positive: Without the fear of cutting a client, the techs have been performing more quickly and efficiently.
