Tara Colvin’s affordable “no frills mini-pedicure”—basic trimming filing, and cleaning of the nails—is the favorite service of her senior clientele. As owner of Tara Cares Mobile Nail Clinic, Colvin travels California’s Santa Maria Valley tending to clients in senior residences board and care facilities, and nursing homes as well as private residences. “They like the convenience since they don’t need to arrange transportation or wait in a podiatrist’s office. I enjoy the flexibility my business allows. I can schedule client visits around my busy family life.” Though she occasionally refers to a podiatrist, Colvin usually handles common problems. Like very thick nails or a diabetic condition on her own. Most importantly, she enjoys spending time with her clients.” They’re so full of wisdom. They’ve been there, done that. And they appreciate someone who takes the time to care for them,” she says.
