Global Director of education for Cuccio, Marilyn Olemma Garcia wanted to show off different techniques and products while executing a festive design for the season. Acrylics, hard gel, and powder were used to make these stunning snowflakes. Just because Garcia uses a few techniques doesn’t mean that only advanced artists can replicate it. “This design is very salon-friendly. It can take just about an hour and a half,” she estimates.
Here are Garcia’s steps for how to get this month’s cover look:
1. Using a form, construct the nails with Cuccio Nudecrylics in Sun Kissed.
2. After filing the nail you already have a color base. Using a striper brush from the Cuccio Master Artist Brush Kit, make the design of the snowflakes with T3 white gel. Tip: Mix Cuccio T3 LED gel with Veneer top coat to make the gel more workable for fine lines. This gel is perfect for this design because it doesn’t move and lets you work without it running all over the nail.
3. Before you cure, use a spatula and pour the 3-D Veneer powder over the design. Then, cure in a LED lamp for one minute.
4. After curing, remove excess powder with a brush.
