Bellus Academy recently announced the March 2014 re-launch of their Spa Nail Technician program at their Poway (San Diego County) campus and the academy’s new partnership with Minx, the heat-activated fashion nail coatings, at both the Poway and National City locations. Well-known celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Katy Perry have all been seen sporting Minx’s fashion-forward nail accessories. Bellus Academy’s partnership with Minx will offer Spa Nail Technician graduates a huge advantage upon graduation, as they will be able to offer the Minx premium service to clients.

“In an effort to provide our students with the latest and greatest in the nail industry, a partnership with Minx Nails was a must,” says Carrera Bailey, director of Bellus Academy National City. “Minx Nails is the hottest nail innovation featured in fashion magazines, on runways, and on celebrities. Our partnership with Minx nails provides our students with the tools they need to be trend-setting while creating synergistic alliances to the professional world.”

The Bellus Academy Spa Nail Technician program is unique in that it provides training in more than just the basics of manicuring. The 600-hour Spa Nail Technician course curriculum also includes training in acrylics, gels, nail art, air-brushing, spa nail protocols, aromatherapy, skin brightening treatments, and hot rock and reflexology for both the hands and feet. The academy uses CND (Creative Nail Design) products to teach students advanced techniques of manicuring and spa treatment training, so that graduates will more easily be able to obtain a desirable position in the luxury salon and spa industry upon graduation.

Bellus academy is also ITEC approved, providing graduates the opportunity to receive an international certificate that will allow them to work in over 35 countries. Additionally, Bellus Academy’s relationships with luxury spas and salons in Southern California allow students the opportunity to extern with fine spas and salons, such as Spa Terre, Rock Spa (Hard Rock Hotel), Se Spa, Spa Gregories, and Paradise Point.
