Canadian gel manufacturer en Vogue just launched its newest lac it! collection Head in the Clouds. The 2023 Spring/Summer collection features six dreamy shades with a mixture of soft crèmes, milky jellies, and delicate shimmers. Paint 2 coats of a sheer, natural pink (Angel Wings), curing fully between each.
Using a short nail art brush (Fine Liner), add small “blobs” of a baby blue gel polish (Daydreamer) and blend them out using a little Prep & Clean on your brush with quick dabbing motions. Once you’re happy, cure and repeat the process with a jelly lavender (Utopia), filling in some of the gaps and layering on top of the blue in sections. Cure.
Apply a layer of I’m A Matte top coat and cure to create a smooth, even surface for fine linework.
Using a silver gel paint (Silver Slippers) and a fine detail brush (2-in-1 Striper), begin adding clouds one line at a time. Add a cloud-shaped line in the centre, for your top cloud, and flash-cure in between sections.
On either end of your top line, create two more cloud-like lines and add a swirl to curl in the ends.
Fill in the extra space with some dots and starbursts, topcoat with your favourite shiny top coat (I’m A No-Wipe), and cure.
