The abstract design, with its use of colorful foil, evokes a watery feel, says Lumsden, who works at Hair Success in Moorhead, Minn. It takes about 20 minutes to complete the artwork, and Lumsden charges $15. Here’s a step- by-step on how to do it:
Step 1. Apply a brush-on foil adhesive.
Step 2. Cut out pieces of iridescent foil and place them on each nail.
Step 3. Apply a non-yellowing top coat, then, using an orangewood stick, place gold bouillon glass beads (Lumsden refers to the beads as “Nail Caviar”) and one rhinestone on each nail. Reapply top coat.
