So, you wowed your client into a new gel polish application by telling her how much more durable they are than standard polish, and that they help prevent chipping and cracking, and then she comes back a day later with a chip.
Swell.

So what do you do?

Well do not worry. Claudio Iacovetto of C-C My Nails in Newcastle, Wyo., shows how she quickly fixes a chip and sends clients off as good as new.

1. Use a white buffer block to buff off the top coat from the entire surface of the nail.

2. Apply primer or your base gel to chipped areas only and cure for one minute. Then apply the color to the chipped areas only and cure for one minute.

3. Apply top coat to the entire nail surface, cap the edges, and cure for two minutes.

“Kindly remind clients not to use their nails like tools in the future, and these repairs will last the length of the service — usually two weeks until regrowth requires replacement,” Iocovetto says.
