German Fair Featured Hot Beauty Trends

The 5th Annual Premiere Beauty Show held August 21-22 in Orlando, Fla., was tough for the nail competitors. More than 50 nail competitors vied for medallions and cash prizes of up to $500. Approximately 5,200 visitors came to the two-day show. Successful nail competitors Trish Phelan and Tim Farquhar assisted at the show, and Vicki Peters was the competition coordinator.

Ki-live, The International Fair and Congress for cosmetics and foot care, in Wiesbaden, Germany, September 2-4, featured the latest popular cosmetic treatments. The convention drew more than 17,000 visitors to its 16,000-square-meter hall.

Some of the exhibits and demonstrations included aromatherapy and essential oils, wrinkle treatment using needles, preventing foot ailments, decorative nails, and permanent makeup. Educational seminars covered topics such as skin allergies skin health, and the esthetician’s career. Next year’s Ki-live is scheduled for August 25-27, 1995.
