Are your massages up to par? The size, hardness, and shape of a golf ball make it the perfect instrument to reach deep sore spots in the muscles — and your male clients in particular will get a kick out of your incorporating golf balls into a tension-relieving shoulder or foot massage.

The SPAball Kaddy — an ergonomically balanced, cup-like device that perfectly cradles a standard golf ball — was designed by massage therapist Heather Karr to relieve any awkwardness or fatigue the therapist might feel using a golf ball to massage. The device allows the therapist to push deeply into the muscles with much less wear and tear on herself, protecting hands from the pressure of the golf ball and allowing her to control it better.

Another product, Karr’s KaddyBACK, was inspired by the practice of putting a golf ball in a sock, placing it against the upper back area, and pushing it against a wall to allow the ball to massage hard-to-reach back areas. KaddyBACK — a hands-free, deep-tissue back massager that holds a golf ball in the upper-back area — can be used while clients are relaxing in their chairs or as a take-home retail item.
