Launch Clients Into Deep Relaxation

Your clients may not be facing precisely the same kind of physical stress an astronaut experiences during lift-off, but that doesn’t mean they won’t benefit from the same solution.

At Walter Todd Salon/Spa in San Diego, nail care clients receive their deluxe spa-type manicure or pedicure treatments while leaning back in a zero-gravity recliner with their feet elevated above their heart. “The chair cradles the back in a position that is recommended by doctors to release spinal pressure and stress,” says co-owner Todd Bradley.

But, he emphasizes, the service is about more than the chair. The 60-minute waterless manicure and 75- minute pedicure use top-quality products and include deep massage and moisturization along with an optional paraffin dip.

All nail technicians receive the “zero gravity” treatment before they can perform it on clients to ensure that they know the level of relaxation they will provide, says Bradley.
