Described as a safe haven for nail techs who execute extreme designs, a Facebook group called 3-D Fanatics is a place where people can share 3-D and fantasy nail art, without the drama. Founder and moderator, Kimberly Harr, a nail tech based in Everett, Pa., started the group with the intention that nail techs can share, learn, and help each other without the fear of rude or negative feedback.

Rebecca Wales, Doncaster, England

“Negative remarks are more hurtful than most people care to realize. I do not allow bullying or negativity of any kind. There is too much of that in this world already,” she says. “The great benefit of this group is that we encourage each other.”

From novice nail techs to experienced folks in the industry, the group is nearly 700 numbers strong. And to increase interaction, Harr recently started hosting 3-D nail art challenges to show the “3-D’ers” a glimpse of the competition world. “Doing these challenges has brought so many (members) out of their shell,” she says.
