America’s Beauty and Wellness Industry Under Threat from Proposed Regulations Now Being Considered by U.S. Department of Education
A new report criticizes the regulations' impact against students and entrepreneurs.
On December 20th, 2014, The Beauty Point Academy of San Antonio,Tex., celebrated the grand opening of the first ever Nail Systems International-approved (NSI) training program in the United States.

As part of its nail technician training program, The Beauty Point Academy will offer courses and curriculum exclusively developed by top NSI Educators. This curriculum counts toward students’ state-required training, and for technicians who are already licensed, NSI Academy offers certificate courses in advanced techniques.
Among those in attendance at the December grand opening were Beauty Point Academy owner Mrs. Cantu and daughter Gracie King. Since 2013, Ms. King has been an educator for NSI, and she has been in the nail industry for more than 20 years. Under her direction, the NSI curriculum will include six certificates of completion in each NSI training category. Students completing certificates in all categories will receive a special diploma from NSI.
“NSI is honored to have Gracie King as an educator and the first to partner with the company to open an NSI Academy,” says NSI director of sales and education Malinda Haggerty. “Gracie is a very well-respected and seasoned nail technician in our industry. She has excelled in every area as a NSI Educator leaving her mark on our international training by winning top awards. Without her insight into the curriculum and the NSI school program we could not have developed such a first class nail program that can stand alone as the NSI Academy. We couldn’t be more excited to support her and watch as she impacts this industry with her positive and energetic drive to push her students to new levels. Special thank you to Gracie, Mrs. Cantu, and all of the amazing men and women at The Beauty Point Academy for making the grand opening a huge success!”
Headquartered near Philadelphia, NSI is a research, development, and manufacturing company that has been advancing technology for the professional-only nail market for more than 40 years.
