New Paraffin Treatment Keeps on Giving

Launched last year by salon owner Deanna Montrose, gLOVE Treat is a paraffin wax treatment for both in-salon and home use that is housed inside a microwave-safe thermal glove. Infused with coconut and lavender oils, gLOVE Treat provides deep conditioning for smoother hands and stronger nails, while it soothes aching joints. Each gLOVE Treat provides four treatments, so the initial service can be done in the salon, then the client takes the remaining product home to use herself until her next visit. gLOVE Treat boots are also available for the feet.

“I know salons and spas well, having spent my life in them,” says Montrose. “One thing I have always struggled with is the paraffin pot. If you are doing nails or adding on a paraffin service, you need to keep this pot on for 24 hours to always be ready for the service, as there is a two-hour melt time on paraffin. Most state boards are not OK with you dipping hands and feet in these pots any longer, so you need to ladle them into bags. It’s messy, cumbersome, and honestly I don’t find them that moisturizing on their own.” She decided to work on a solution to the problem and came up with gLOVE Treat.

Heat the gloves or boots in the microwave for two minutes to produce 15 minutes of heat. There is no worry of overheating as gLOVE Treat has a thermochromatic heart sticker that will turn red if you overheat it. “It’s much more luxurious than a standard paraffin treatment due to the high amounts of virgin coconut oil, known for its medium chain triglycerides,” she says. “The results are a moisturizing treatment that lasts for days, not hours.”
