Now in its eight season, NAILS Magazine’s Next Top Nail Artist (NTNA) is the premiere competition within the professional nail industry. This year, NAILS is delighted to be partnering with CND to bring this challenge to life.

Contestants who enter NTNA undergo a rigorous screening process where every brush stroke is scrutinized. After carefully evaluating hundreds of intricate hand-painted looks, sculpted acrylics, brushed on gels, and an array of mixed-media. 

The finalists are competing against each other through a series of design challenges, and Challenge #6 is in and ready for viewing and voting!

Here is the challenge issued to the finalists for Week #6: Fashion Fanatic

CND is known for its showstopping nail looks that have graced runways all over the world. From Libertine to the Blonds, CND is synonymous with larger than life, 3-D nail fashion. CND’s Vinylux is known for its long wearability and can be found behind the scenes at many of these shows. For this challenge, we ask that contestants choose a 3-D runway nail look from CND and create a ready to wear version on a single hand, using Vinylux ONLY for the artwork. Because Vinylux is all about LONG-wear, nails must be built out in length (using Brisa, L&P or Plexi Gel). Submit a 3-5 minute video diary explaining your inspiration and your technique to create them. Also make sure to include a link to the nails that inspired you for this week’s design.
