The Orlando-based nail technician will use the $5,000 prize from Booksy to upgrade her salon space and elevate the client experience.

Booksy, a booking, management, and discovery app for barbers and beauty pros worldwide, recently announced the winner of The Salon Glow Up Orlando Competition. Booksy has awarded nail technician Neeka J. $5,000 to help upgrade her Orlando-based salon and take her business to the next level.
Barber Millenia Roldan and hairstylist Alexandra Espinal were runners-up in the competition.
“I’m really excited to use the winnings to continue investing back into my salon and elevate the experience for my clients,” says Neeka J. “I plan to give the space a facelift by repainting the walls, adding LED lighting, upgrading my nail stations, and making the salon more functional overall. I also want to create a more elevated experience for my clients by updating my pedicure area and adding refreshments to make the space feel even more welcoming and comfortable for everyone who walks through the door.”
The Salon Glow Up Orlando competition was designed to support the talented Orlando community of Booksy providers, including barbers, nail technicians, and hairstylists, to help upgrade their salons and grow their businesses. Salon upgrades could include everything from new stations or furniture improvements, lighting or layout upgrades, branding or visual refreshes, functional improvements that elevate the client experience, and more.
Local Orlando beauty professionals entered to win the competition via a contest landing page, which was accessible through Booksy’s social media 'link in bio' during the month of April, sharing more about their beauty salons and barber shops, and what improvements they were looking to make.
