The benefits of CBD are numerous and when applied topically, it helps to alleviate pain and muscle soreness and promotes relaxation, says Nick Pham, co-owner of Seal Beach, Calif.’s Solara Nail Bar (www.solaranailbar.com). Still, before jumping into CBD-based nail services, Pham did extensive research on his product options. “We looked at where the products were sourced and produced (in the U.S. versus overseas), how long the company had been in business, BBB ratings, affiliated partnerships, diversity of other product offerings, etc.,” says Pham. “We also looked for products that contain full-spectrum CBD rather than the isolate form to maximize efficacy.”
Ultimately, they decided to go with the brands Kush Queen and Siskiyou Sungrown. “Our Solara CBD pedicure delivers the CBD to our customers in three forms: a custom CBD bath bomb from Kush Queen, plus an exfoliating peppermint scrub and lotion massage, both infused with CBD from Siskiyou Sungrown,” he says. Clients can choose between four themed Kush Queen bath bombs: Relax, Relieve, Love, and Awaken. The salon also retails other CBD-infused products, including Bare, a tincture supplement made by Kush Queen.
Priced at $65, the hour-long service has quickly become a client favorite since its introduction in January. “Our customers love it,” he says. “They do notice an acute feeling of relaxation as the CBD takes effect, especially during the massage portion.”
