Shellac layering has become a popular technique for nail techs. Putting a layer of different colors atop one another adds depth and subtlety to the final color of the nail and allows you to expand your creativity while giving clients a whole new look.

A quick technique that popped up during ISSE 2011 in Long Beach was Anne Clarizio’s method of doing a quick color check on what the final outcome would be for a Shellac layering.

Clarizio simply paints a bit of the top color on the side of the bottle of the bottom layer. Here she shows how Decadence will look on top of Rock Royalty.
