Thirteen is a lucky number for nail technician Debi Gabler’s clients. That’s the number of steps to the super deluxe pedicure offered at True Exceptions Nail Salon in Schulenburg, Texas. The 1-1 ½ hour treatment rates lots of oohs and aahs from satisfied customers, according to Gabler, who says she’s particularly gratified if clients fall asleep during the service.
Step 1 Allow client to soak for 10 minutes in a warm scented foot bath.
Step 2 Remove one foot from the foot bath and towel dry. Remove old polish and apply cuticle cream. Repeat the process on the other foot.
Step 3 Gently push back the cuticle and clip away any excess growth.
Step 4 Trim the toenails and buff away any ragged edges and ridges.
Step 5 Use Gena’s Sloughing Cream to slough away dead skin from each foot and leg.
Step 6 Apply Gena Foot Scrub to the foot and the lower leg. Massage the foot well, including toes, top of foot, and calf: Repeat the process on the other foot. Rinse both feet to remove all of the scrub.
Step 7 Remove both feet from the foot bath and dry them thoroughly. Next, dip each foot into peach-scented paraffin, wrap in plastic, then enclose in terry cloth booties. Allow the client to relax with a magazine and a beverage for about ten minutes.
Step 8 Remove the plastic wrap and paraffin as if taking off a glove.
Step 9 Massage Gena’s Eucalyptus and Mint Cooling Gel into the feet and calves.
Step 10 Massage Gena’s Foot Lotion onto the feet and calves.
Step 11 It’s time for polish. Wipe any lotion or gel off the nails and apply the base coat, color and top coat.
Step 12 Place client’s feet in a drying machine for the required length of time.
Step 13 Help the client put on her sandals or provide a pair of disposable slippers.
