Dawn Mongelluzzi of Nails By Dawn in Cleveland, Ohio, has found a simple way to combat nails marred by excessive dirt, paint, or discoloration. She adds 1½ - 2 ounces of hydrogen peroxide to the client’s finger bowl and lets her soak for a few extra minutes. This whitens and brightens the nail plates, says Mongelluzzi, a 5½-year veteran of the nail industry and an educator for OPI Products. “I had a client who was a painter and I just experimented with ways to clean up around her cuticles until I discovered this. It’s also great for people who spend a lot of time working in the garden,” she says.
