Uber-popular in the 1990s, it's having a revival on Tik Tok. Some beautiful examples of this tweak on a classic are being created by Jessica White, an award winning nail artist. White is the founder of Blanc Studios, and the 2025 Scratch Stars Social Media Star of the Year. A law grad turned educator, she trains techs through accredited courses and shares education-first content with 250K+ followers. An OPI ambassador, as well, she blends salon work, teaching, and brand partnerships.

“If you look back to the 90s, everyone was wearing a deep French, it was chic, it was dramatic and it just gave off the supermodel energy. And the deeper the smile line, the better. But, over the years it started to fade away, and we saw a rise in more natural, softer, shorter, French tips.
"However, the deep French is creeping back in, and we recently saw Kylie Jenner step out wearing a deep French which just solidifies it's here to stay, it’s cemented, it’s coming back.
