Our favorite part of any award show or celebrity event is seeing what those celebrities are wearing on their fingertips! We love to see unique designs, gems, glitter, the whole nine. One award show that never disappoints in terms of cool nails is the BET Awards, and we were certainly impressed this year with what we saw.

Here are some of our favorites from celebs who attended the awards, and instructions on how to recreate them from their talented manicurists, all using Aprés Nail products and their Gel-X system. Don’t forget to give the below artists a follow to see what magic they create on other celebrities.

Quinta Brunson

Quinta Brunson’s metallic chrome 3D texture nails were created by celebrity manicurist Temeka Jackson (@customtnails1).

Get The Look:

1. Shape & Prep

   1. Select your preferred nail shape. File and prep each press-on for a clean, smooth base.

2. Color Application

   1. Apply two coats of Burnt Blush from the Light & Shadow collection.

   2. Cure each coat for 30 seconds using the BETA LED Nail Lamp.

3. Matte Base + Slant Detailing

   1. Using a fine liner brush, paint a diagonal slant on select nails with Birnam Wood.

   2. Apply Non-Wipe Matte Top Coat and cure for 30 seconds.

4. 3D Textured Art

   1. On the remaining nails, use black chrome gel to create textured designs.

   2. Cure each layer for 60 seconds.

   3. Flash cure any added 3D texture for 10 seconds under the Omni Light.

   4. Fully cure all nails for 45 seconds in the BETA LED Nail Lamp.

5. Chrome Finish

   1. Apply gold chrome pigment with a makeup applicator to the 3D designs only.

   2. Seal the chrome with a chrome sealant.

6. Gloss + Crystal Finish

   1. Apply Non-Wipe Glossy Topcoat over the full nail.

   2. Add crystals using a bling adhesive.

   3. Seal with Non-Wipe Glossy Topcoat and cure for 60 seconds.

Kehlani

Kehlani’sdark ethereal claws were created by celebrity manicurist Johana Castillo (@masterweenay).

Get The Look:

1. Apply Aprés Long Sculpted Stiletto Gel-X Tips.

2. Top with Guardian from the Heavenly Top Gelcoat collection.

3. Rub in orange iridescent chrome.

4. Seal with Aprés Non-Wipe Glossy Top Gelcoat for protection.

5. Outline with Birnam Wood — then trace with Midnight Shadow.

6. Before curing, tap + drag for a smoky marble effect.

7. Final Non-Wipe Glossy Top Gelcoat = Kehlani’s perfect BET set!

Andra Day

Andra Day’sbaby blue nailswere created by celebrity manicurist Jolene Brodeur (@jolene.b.nails).

Get The Look:

1. First prep the nails to get a detailed manicure.

2. We then used Aprés Natural Medium Square Gel-X Tips.

3. Apply two coats of Sky High.

4. Finish it off with Non-Wipe Glossy Top Gelcoat.
