Nail tech Jesse Bruner, owner of Jesse David Nail Design in Wilmington, Del., suggests videotaping yourself as you work. “Originally I taped myself to get a critique from one of my own mentors,” says Bruner. “But as I was editing the tape I noticed how often I repeat steps, and how slowly I work. It was very eye opening.” No need to get elaborate equipment; Bruner just used a cell phone.
