What do you do if you’re having problems with a product application? Do you know about manufacturer hotlines? Many professional nail product manufacturers offer technical support through hotlines, where you can call in and ask an operator (who is usually a nail tech) about a problem you might be having with a particular product. CND Hotline Administrator Dede Hardy takes a moment to answer the question she hears most often from callers.

More often than not, techs who call in with this question aren’t using the CND Brisa UV lamp with our Brisa gels. Instead, they might be using a lamp from a different manufacturer. From a chemical standpoint, each manufacturer designs its specific products to work together, so techs often run into issues when trying to intermix the products.
Another common issue is that techs may not be following the proper process when performing a service. Nail techs are concerned with giving the best service, but also with completing the service in the given amount of time, so they sometimes miss an important step. Especially in salons where clients are separating their time for more than one service, techs may feel pressured to speed-up the service. This is when the intermixing of products (such as the UV lamp) from different manufacturer’s can occur.
