Barbicide May Be Used In Florida Salons

The summer 1993 Board of Cosmetology newsletter published by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation incorrectly stated that alcohol and Barbicide are no longer considered effective by the state board in destroying the HIV/AIDS virus and other contagious diseases.

An Old Law Gets New Life In Oregon

The Oregon Board of Barbers and Hairdressers has announced that it will begin enforcing a long-standing regulation that states “floor surfaces in the working area of a shop shall be of a washable, non-absorbent material and shall be kept clean, orderly, and in good repair.”
