Congratulations to Valerie Ducharme! Valerie’s love story gone wrong ended happily ever after, securing her a second win.
NAILS head judge Beth Livesay said, “Imaginative story with beautiful work on a relative topic. There are so many details to be absorbed, yet they all play off of each other nicely in terms of cohesion. This set was love at first sight for me.”
Guest judge Nancy Hinojosa of ibd said, “Very good work! Loved the attention to detail, especially in the faces. Thanks so much for showing us your heartbreaker tale.”
Head judge Jan Arnold said, “Clever and well told story. Nice graphic color palette.”
NAILS art director Yuiko Sugino said, “Very interesting concept. Really makes you think about technology and the human demise. Great set with beautiful sculpting work and detailing, including spot-on portraits. I love how everything pops out and creates almost a mess, just like on social media. This design really works for the theme.”

Valerie will be receiving a gift package from ibd valued at over $500!
The nail tech who is packing up her paintbrushes this week is… Trish Johnson. It is with a heavy heart that the NTNA family asks Trish to pack her paintbrushes. We can’t think of a more professional, enthusiastic nail artist.
But this won’t be the last you hear from Trish. She will move on to CND’s Last Chance Design Lab where she’ll have one last chance to stay in the competition. Check back Friday to see who will move on in our Last Chance battle — Trish or Liza.
Tune in Tuesday to see the results of the Orly challenge and vote for your favorites! Good luck to the Top 8
