Track and field superstar Florence Griffith-Joyner, better known as Flo-Jo, graciously posed for NAILS’ February 1993 cover. Joyner made sports history in 1988 when she became the first American woman to win four medals in a single Olympic Games, but she also gained attention for her trademark long painted nails. Joyner started doing her own nails as a teenager and supported herself doing hair and nails part-time in a salon while she was training for the 1988 Olympics.
