Zoey Deutch wore a sparkling red LeChat mani by celebrity manicurist Elle for the premiere of her new Netflix show, The Politician. Elle designed the nails to match Deutch’s Rodarte dress. “Zoey said she wanted to do a red glitter nail, but left the creativity up to me,” says Elle. “Having creative freedom, I decided to add a stamped accent nail that mimicked the lace of her dress.” Although Deutch typically wears gel and acrylic, this look was specific to the dress, so Elle used traditional lacquer to create the look, allowing easy removal. She used LeChat’s Perfect Match gel to create a perfectly matching, long-lasting pedicure.
Elle used LeChat Dare to Wear in On the Red Carpet for the manicure, and the same shade in Perfect Match for the pedicure. “On the Red Carpet is true red with glitter, which was a perfect choice with her look,” she says. “For the accent finger on each hand, I recreated the lace and sparkle of her dress, working with a nail stamping plate to create the lace pattern. I painted LeChat Dare to Wear Cherry Cosmo, a creamy cherry red, onto the stamping plate. Next, I scraped the paint into the pattern and picked it up with a clear rubber stamper, stamping it onto the nail. I finished the accent nail off with Swarovski crystals to mimic the glitter of the dress.”
For the pedicure, Elle used LeChat’s Incure Lamp, which is cordless and big enough for feet. “This lamp is ideal when I’m working simultaneously with hair and makeup, since I don’t need an outlet and can avoid getting tangled up in their cords,” says Elle. “Previous wireless lamps didn’t cure right, but the power and construction of this lamp has made it a new favorite of mine.”
