Even if you’ve only got one nail art design on your menu, don’t shy away from offering it to a diverse clientele. The secret? Switch up the colors to suit each client’s personality. Something as simple as a palette change can make the design almost unrecognizable from one client to the next. Veteran nail artist Jade Sewell of Just Nails, Great Falls, Mont., demonstrates.

For a rockstar client, varying shades of green create an eye-catching French that looks almost serpentine.

For the romantic, use the soft colors of a traditional French with clear rhinestones adding the most subtle bling.

If a tropical vacation is on the horizon for your client, bright citrus shades lend an exotic vibe.

If she’s into the ’50s look, then use a contrasting black and white background with glamorous red rhinestones.
