Cammy Nguyen has been doing nails since she was 18 years old. The owner of Blossom Beauty Lounge in Redondo Beach, Calif., got her start working with family — her mother owns a salon herself. “My mother inspired me to open my own salon,” says Nguyen. “I soon discovered that I had a talent and passion for nails, especially nail art!”
The talented tech is inspired by other great artists in the industry and is always looking to continue her education.

“Over the years, I kept improving my skills and learning from others,” she says. “Even to this day, I’m always taking classes or sitting in with other techs to learn new techniques.”
For this month’s cover we asked Nguyen to create a fun set of nail art for teen clients much like the art she does every day in the salon.“I’m lucky to have found a niche in this type of nail art. So many of my clients just come in and let me create fun and wild designs on their nails. Often every nail is different and I use a combination of acrylic, traditional gel, and gel-polish. Plus I use decals, crystals, studs, and all sorts of other fun embellishments.

Here's how you can get this month's cover look:
1. Prep the nails.
2. Apply Presto Clear Gel as a base and cure for two minutes. Apply a second coat. Apply a different color of bright Presto Color gel-polish to each finger. Nguyen used the following colors: SC-41, SC-14, SC-15, #86, and #87. Create shapes using negative space on several of the nails. Cure for two minutes.
3. Using Presto Mixing Gel as your adhesive, apply Ocean Nail Supply’s neon studs. Cure for two minutes. After curing, apply Presto Mixing Gel surrounding the studs to better secure them to the nail. Cure for two minutes. Apply Presto Top Coat and cure for two minutes.
