Stockholm Sweden, beginning of 2021. The world has been in lockdown for a year and after being infected by the virus and contracting long term-covid, an idea started to take shape. Three items that would help nail techs and enthusiasts to find creativity even in the toughest times, combined with a focus on self-care: a nail planner, a design book, and a card deck.

These three products are the brainchild of Celina Rydén, world-renowned nail artist, educator, and founder of the nail brand Moonflair. Once the idea hit her, she began creating right away with help from her mother on the layout. The goal for this collection is to eliminate that feeling of pressure when a client wants you to come up with something creative, as well as to encourage you to make time for yourself.

“The two most common problems that my community asks me about are how to find inspiration and how to handle the stress of working as a nail tech," Rydén says. "Being in the nail industry for over 17 years, these are two problems that I have faced myself many times. If you’ve ever had a client ask you to do “whatever you want” and give you that big-eyed anticipating look, you know how stressful it can be to be innovative and creative on the spot.”

1. My Nail Planner – Finding the balance between work and self-care

A nail planner that not only helps you with your business, but also encourage you to take care of yourself.

"I wanted to create a planner that is encouraging you to be a boss but at the same time in a loving way towards yourself," says Rydén. "I share not only my best business tips, but also advice on how to break up with clients, morning ritual tips, quick yoga/stretch poses you can do at work, how important it is to take breaks, have lunch and schedule self-care time."

2. My Nail Designs

A book where you can explore your creativity and gather all your nail designs in one place, including tips and tricks on nail art.

"In this design book I start off by sharing my best tips and tricks on how to find inspiration, talking about tools, how to charge for nail art and other pages that will help you spark your creativity and find your personal style. The rest of the book is filled with shapes of nails and lines to fill in the date, the client’s name, products used, inspiration, etc. Use it on your own to prepare sets for your clients to choose from, or use it together with your client on the spot."

3. Nail Cards

The ultimate tool to fight creativity blocks and grow your own creative thought process.

"The card deck is divided into five sections: 20 color cards, 20 word cards, 20 element cards, four shape cards and three accent cards. Together they will help you create something unique for every nail set! This deck has been designed and hand-drawn by me and includes my signature style inspired by bohemian elements. With this deck, you’ll be challenged to try out new exciting ways to spark your creativity and the combinations are endless."
