Nails by Cassie Kohr, Academy of Beauty by Patsy & Rob, Cottleville, Mo.

1. Polish the nail white. Add a thin red line to the tip. Add a curved black line, thicker at the top and tapering off at the bottom, in the center.

2. Add an angled black V-shape to the thick end of the line. Add a black V-shape on the left side of the line. Add thin curved black lines on the right to make legs and toes.

3. Use black paint and light strokes to fill in the head and wings. Apply a dot of red polish (or a rhinestone) for the eye. Apply top coat.
